The 2011 Scion iQ - a Toyota iQ in any other place - will hit the US market
The Scion name is one of those car ‘Makes’ that is well known over there but unheard of over here. So although the headline will mean something to our Colonial Cousins, most in Blighty won’t have a clue. So before we cover the Scion iQ, perhaps we ought to cover Scion in general.
Renault will show off this mid-engined supermini concept at the 2013 Monaco Grand prix race weekend. Called the TwinRun, the R5 Turbo-inspired creation is powered by a mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6, and will hit 155mph flat out. The TwinRun is the latest in a series of wacky Renault concept cars, following the Twizy RS F1 and Twin-Z supermini into the limelight.
The BMW X3 had the premium CUV market to itself when launched in 2004. Skip forward to the launch of the second generation and not only does the new version have a whole host of competitors for company, it also has to fit around its X1, X5 and X6 siblings. We took the 2011 BMW X3 (known internally as F25) to the Austrian Tyrol and spoke to its exterior designer, Erik Goplen, to find out if it still has the segment covered.
